Designed with a ritzy ambience, maintaining its distinct character is this Van Heusen store. Bequest over its location in the prime; the store offers a visually enthralling experience
The Van Heusen store in Indiranagar, Bengaluru is designed with a contemporary ambience befitting the high-end clientele of the brand that showcases its premium bespoke clothing line. The 5,500 sq. ft. store is spread across 2 floors.
Since the store is located in the high-end shopping area of the city, aligned with other stores having a white frontage; the intent was to create a modern outlet that stands out. The designer has tried to establish a relation between the building façade and the brand. Derived from the name of the brand, the façade exhibits metal ribs in an inclined fashion forming a ‘V’. This has been made prominent by adding levels and depth in the facade.
Designer Ananth Atri from Oculus Designs has tried to articulate the visual perception incorporating an honest use of materials that enhance the design. Every space has been treated individually to create a visually appealing experience incorporating elements that are soothing to the eye has been crafted. An attempt has been made to accomplish a design that is as relevant as possible. The basic theme of ‘V’ from the name of the brand has been subtly taken across the store design, as much as possible. One can see this concept in a prominent fashion right from the entrance, across the store in different ways.
Done generously in wood, the interiors are muted and subdued, albeit very classy. The Royale Play International Designer Collection clothes the walls in a garment of quite refinement and gives a salient character to each finish. The space flaunts a gentle aura from the exquisite mineral finishes of Marmorino KS from the Royale Play IDC. The Marmarino KS finish is a lime-based fine plaster that works its magic in this space. The great variety in beautiful pitted effects by Asian Pains Royale collection sets the backdrop and is not very loud. Together they play their part in the overall experience, giving the space an identity which is sui generis.
The flooring and ceiling is also done in wood, laid in a herringbone pattern, forming a V in different ways, thus, boasting the brand very well. The staircase integrates the two floors, portraying strips of glass placed at random angles, which also sports the ‘V’ element from the branding.
Display elements are vital to any retail store because they attract its connoisseurs. The niches of the walls are finished partly in wood and metal to create display shelves. The elements in the sides go along the context. Lighting is of paramount importance. Spot lighting and mood lighting are enabled for all display shelves.
